Who is this class for?
* Teachers/Administrators who want to learn mediation skills in order to communicate better with students and co-workers
* HR Professionals or Employers who want to learn mediation skills to communicate better themselves or help employees resolve conflicts in the workplace
* College students who want to learn positive conflict resolution skills for school and workplace conflicts
* Any adult who wants to give back to their community by helping others resolve conflict peacefully
Participation in our center as a volunteer mediator (or with any court affiliated center) requires completion of this course and a mentorship period with our staff.
You are not required to become a volunteer if you are paying full tuition. If you are attending on scholarship, then you are required to volunteer in accordance with the scholarship application document.
This course is in English, but some course materials are available upon request in Spanish for those whose first language is Spanish and would like to read about the new concepts you are learning in your native language.

We are looking for adult volunteers from all walks of life. Our mediators seek to empower people to resolve conflicts peacefully through mutual understanding and respect. If you want to contribute to this mission, please apply for this training regardless of your age, race, gender, income, religious background or education. Training is in English, but we do have a high need bilingual mediators to assist with Spanish and Portuguese speaking clients.
*Scholarships available for those who enroll in mediator training who meet eligibility criteria and intend to become a volunteer mediator. Email info@mediationncm.org for scholarship application.
* Rebate program available for those who are unsure at this time whether or not they will be able to volunteer, but later decide to mediate cases for Mediation Services of North Central MA (MSI).

Mediation Services works with area middle schools, high schools, and youth organizations to train students in peer mediation, assists in development and coordination peer mediation and other conflict resolution and SEL programming, professional development for facility staff, as well as mediation of conflicts between school community members. Providing youth with conflict resolution skills helps students grow in confidence, become peer leaders, and gives them skills for their future.
