Basic Mediation Training

Spring 2019 Training - Weekend dates: May 4, 5, 18, and 19 from  8:30-4:30pm Evening dates: Wednesday May 8 and 15 from 5-8

Most dates of the course will be held at  Leominster Hospital Conference Room 1 (first floor).  The cost of this course is $575; however, those who suc who commit to volunteering with MSI will earn a rebate each quarter for up to 2 years (must volunteer with MSI an average of  at least twice a month to earn rebate for that quarter- Rebate will max out at $475)

Basic Mediation Training consists of a mix of skill building exercises, practice role plays and interactive presentations.

Each  component is designed to provide opportunities to learn and practice the skills necessary to mediate. Including:

· How to listen effectively

· How to ask the right kinds of questions

· How to deal with difficult behavior

· How to help parties communicate

Qualified and experienced observers/coaches provide timely and personalized feedback during role plays. This training meets the statutory requirements for mediator confidentiality related to the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 233,  Section 23C.  Ask us how you can obtain valuable case experience  after you complete our course

Conflict Resolution Workshops

Mediation Services of North Central Ma (MSI) offers professionally designed workshops and presentations for agencies, community organizations and local businesses. Whether it's learning how to handle difficult situations or improving communications, MSI can customize workshops to meet the needs of their clients.

Programs in Schools and Youth Organizations

Mediation Services works with area middle schools, high schools, and youth organizations to develop and coordinate peer mediation programs, training students in mediation, hold in-house trainings for staff, as well as mediate conflicts between school community members.  Education of  youth in mediation and conflict resolution helps them grow in confidence in the community and gives them skills for their future.
