Looking for a summer program that will help your child throughout their life? We have something for you. Mediation Services of North Central MA (MSI) has a long history of providing Peer Mediation training and programs to schools throughout Northern Worcester County. This summer, we are taking our peer mediator training and expanding it so teens can learn communication and leadership skills to help their peers resolve conflict through less formal means as well.
Participants learn: How to be a Peer Mediator (which will prepare them to join their school’s Peer Mediation programs in the fall if there is one at their middle or high school), conflict coaching skills, leadership, about themselves and how they (and those around them) deal with conflict, de-escalation strategies, active listening and problem-solving skills. They will also take part in connection circles daily. We will provide opportunities for YAs to use the creative arts and sports to address conflict resolution and restorative practices. This is an interactive program, students will practice their newly learned skills through roleplays, activities, and storytelling.
Have questions? Parent Informational Brochures are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and soon Haitian Creole.
